September 2nd, 7.15Pm

It had taken Isaac a while, but he was starting to settle into life at the McCall house. He was incredibly thankful for what Melissa, and Scott, had done for him. They were great people, and he wanted to thank them for everything. Which is why he was in the kitchen. The last hour or so had been spent trying to clean the kitchen. He had done the dishes, wiped the counters and the table, cleaned inside the oven, and now he had moved on to cleaning the fridge. It was the best way he knew how to say 'thank you'. 

He had almost emptied a shelf, the last item was a bowl with leftover pasta. Just as he was taking it out of the fridge, it slipped out of his hands and hit the floor, the bowl breaking into many small pieces. "Shit!" Isaac swore, falling to his knees to start picking up the pieces. His hands were shaking, afraid someone would come down and see what had happened. He just didn't want anyone to get mad at him. 

Scott was coming down the stairs just as the bowl hit the floor. He's walks to the kitchen and stands in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe, his arms folded across his chest. He watches Isaac for a few moments before walking over to him. He let's out a small laugh as it appears he startles the other boy and he shakes his head.

"Hey, let me help."

He drops down to his knees on the other side of the broken pieces, careful not to land on any of them and starts picking up some of them. He and Isaac reach for the same piece and Scott actually ends up grabbing the others hand instead. He blinks a few times and pulls his hand back, mumbling an awkward sorry as he stands and puts some of the bigger pieces in the waste bin. He runs his fingers under the tap, getting off the food before grabbing a broom.

"My mom won't mind you know..."

Scotts talking about the anxiety he coming from Isaac. He can feel it, not to mention he felt his hand shaking when he touched him. He shakes his head again, smirking a bit.

"She's my mom after all, I've done far worse..."

A laugh startles Isaac. Looking up, he finds Scott watching him. His eyes flickers between the other boy and the pieces on the floor. Scott's not mad? 

"Um, thanks...." Isaac mumbles, focused on picking up the pieces. Suddenly Scott's hand is over his, it doesn't last for more than a moment. But the moment is long enough for a small blush to cover Isaac's cheeks. He's not sure what it is, but he has been feeling weird around Scott the last few weeks. Has been feeling weird about Scott. Maybe it's some werewolf thing Derek never told him about. Derek never did tell him a lot, not before it was happening already and he had no choice but to tell Isaac.

"She... she won't?" Isaac asks softly as he gets up from the floor, pieces of glass in his hand. As he's putting the pieces in the bin, he cuts himself. Isaac winces from the pain. Looking at it, it's not deep, but it's bleeding. 

Scott can smell the blood before he can see it and he looks up to Isaac's hand, frowning a little. He puts the broom down and moves over to Isaac, taking him gently by the wrist. He leads him to the sink and turns on the water, holding his finger under it for a moment. They were werewolves, the small cut would heal no problem, it was more instinct on Scott's part, his mom was a nurse after all.

"If my mom was here she'd say that bowl was just a thing and things can be replaced."

She's said the same thing to Scott on a few occasions, all but the time he busted the TV. He's never worked as hard as he worked that summer trying to get the money to replace it. Needless to say, the living room no longer doubled as a lacrosse field in the McCall house. After a moment he realizes he's still holding Isaac's hand and he drops it suddenly, his cheeks turning a slight shade of red so he turns and goes back to cleaning up the mess. He'd never admit to anyone that he was attracted to a boy. He's always thought of himself as straight but there's something different about Isaac and he wasn't entirely sure yet if he wanted to find out what it was. He wasn't going to treat him any differently though or at least try not to. They were sharing the same house now and needed each other do deal with whatever was coming.

"What were you doing anyway?"

He asks him as he glances around the kitchen. Everything was clean except for the mess on the floor.

Before Isaac can protest, Scott is grabbing his wrist and leading him to the sink. The water washes away the blood, and it stings a little, but it will heal in no time. 

"Thanks," Isaac says, biting his lip. It's not just a 'thank you' for cleaning the blood off of his hand, but also for telling him that the bowl doesn't matter. 

"I was, uh, cleaning? I just... You and your mom has done so much for me, and I wanted to thank you... But it seems I just always mess up," he sighs. "I didn't mean to disturb you or anything. I was actually meaning to make you and your mom dinner, but then she had to take the late shift, and then this seemed like a better option. I'm not that good at cooking anyway." 

"Oh."

He nods his head a little bit shrugging his shoulders. He wouldn't say that Isaac messed anything up. Accidents happen, Scott of all people definitely understands that.

"I'm no good at cooking either, we can just order some pizza my mom have me some money this morning."

He gives him a small smile hoping that it relaxes him a bit. He doesn't like how nervous he is all the time. His senses were already going haywire, more so than usual and Isaac didn't make it any better sometimes. He knows the he's just grateful for Scott's mom letting him stay, he's told him enough.

"Just.....stop worrying so much. I don't think there is much we can do these days that would upset her."

"Pizza sounds good," Isaac admits, smiling a little bit, suddenly realizing that he is pretty hungry. 

Scott's smile is assuring, and Isaac just wants him to keep smiling like that. It looks... nice. And it helps him calm down a little. 

"It's not like I'm trying to upset anyone. I really like living here, you know. Just bear with me... I'm not used to this." Used to what? To having a 'mom'? To living with Scott? Isaac isn't quite sure what he means himself. Whatever it is, it sure beats living with Derek. Even if he is Isaac's alpha, he's not the kind of person he'd like the school to call if something happened, he's just not paternal, or whatever. 

Looking at his finger, the cut has started healing, just like Isaac knew it would. 

He finishes sweeping up the glass and food and throws it in the garbage before grabbing a wet wash cloth and wiping up the rest of the mess. He tosses it in the sink then Scott smiles a little again and nods his head as he pulls his phone out of his pocket. He knows Isaac isn't used to being taken care of. He better get used to it though, Scott's mom would make sure he did.

"Is meat lovers alright? I'm not really digging the veggies here as of late."

He laughs a little and looks down at the phone and dials the number as he waits for Isaac to answer him.

"Thanks, for cleaning up after me," Isaac tells Scott, nodding towards the broom. This was supposed to be about Isaac cleaning up fro Scott and Melissa, but it felt kinda nice... Having Scott help him. Scott always seemed to help him when he needed it.

He chuckles, but nods. "Meat lovers is okay." 

Scott calls and orders the pizza, and Isaac hops up on the counter, sitting down and looking at Scott, trying to not be obvious about it. He's not a stalker or anything. Even though sometimes he'd listen to Scott's breath as he slept... from his own room, of course! Werewolf hearing, and everything. And it wasn't creepy or anything, it just helped him sleep sometimes. Now it seems stupid, creepy, and stalkerish, and hopefully Scott will never find out. 

"We should leave some pizza for your mom, she'll probably be hungry when she gets home, won't she?" 

Scott nods his head a bit and places the order. He hangs up and then pulls himself up on the opposite counter, facing Isaac. It was nice having him around. When Scott wasn't with Stiles he at least had someone else to hang out with.

"Yeah, we can either leave it here or take it to her. Depends on if anything comes up in the meantime."

As of late things seemed to be all over the place and he didn't know if they'd end up getting called somewhere. He hopes not though he just wants a quiet night in for a change.

"We could watch a movie or something.....while we eat."

He raises an eyebrow slightly and then quickly adds.

"If you want to of course...if you wanna be alone, that's cool too."

He scuffs the floor a little with the tip of his shoe, looking down, his shoulder shrugging.

Isaac hovers around a bit awkwardly, not knowing what to do as Scott places the order. He's just not used to being around someone all the time, but if he had to choose someone to be around this much, it would be Scott. 

He smiles at Scott's words. 

"A movie sounds... good. It sounds good," Isaac agrees with a small nod. He liked movies, had watched a lot of them, back when he didn't have any friends. When he wasn't working, or cleaning, or cooking for his dad, he would watch movies. It was silly, but it had almost felt like the characters were his friends. He could pretend, at least.

Scott raises his head so he can watch Isaac. He seems just as awkward as himself. It puts him a little at ease. They weren't the best of friends but Scott had a feeling they were getting there.

"What do you want to watch?"

He asks as he puts his phone in his pocket. He didn't care what Isaac picked as long as it took him out of the reality they were living for a short while. He moves again, grabbing a soda from the fridge before starting towards the living room.

"Id rather watch in my room but this will be easier once the pizza gets here."

Scott is even going to let him choose what movie to watch? He takes a moment to think about it, following Scott into the living room. Once there, Isaac steps over to the shelves where the McCall's dvd's are displayed. It's a large enough collection, and it doesn't take more than a minute to see several titles he recognizes among them. His index finger brushes over a few of them, and then he stops at one and pulls it out. 

"How about this?" Isaac holds up the cover, showing Scott the title, E.T. It's a movie Isaac remembers watching with his brother, once upon a time. It's been ages since he saw it last, his father had throw away the VHS copy they'd owned after his brother had left for the army. 

Scott watches as he pulls out E.T. and he stifles a small laugh. He hasn't seen that movie since he was real small. He used to love it. He always wished that one day he would find some alien in the woods. It's pretty funny considering what he actually did find in the woods. He thinks an alien would have been less complicated for sure. He nods his head though.

"Sure, it's been so long it'll probably be like watching it for the first time."

No, he knew that movie line for line. He watched it so much when he was little. Knowing that Isaac could handle putting the DVD in, he plops down on the sofa, grabbing the remote off he table. He pops open the can of soda and takes a long drink before setting it down.

"Mom got it for me a few years ago for my birthday. She said that 'she remembered how much I loved it and wanted to make me feel young again."

He rolls his eyes, laughing softly.

Isaac is pleased when Scoot agrees to watching E.T. even though the other boy had said Isaac could choose. Smiling, Issac moves over to the dvd player and start it up, putting the disc into it. When he moves over to the couch and sits down, leaving enough room between him and Scott to not make it awkward or uncomfortable for either of them. He puts the dvd cover on the coffee table and kicks off his shoes, moving one of his legs underneath the test of his body. 

"Your mom is really nice," Isaac comments. Melissa has done more for Isaac than he would have expected anyone to do for someone who's basically a stranger to them. She didn't have to take Isaac in and let him stay with them. He doesn't want to bring that up again though, because it brings the mood down. And right now it seems like the mood between him and Scott is good. Not awkward like it had been a little while earlier. "She's definitively a cool mom," Isaac adds as an afterthought. With letting them order pizza and stuff.
